The Old Youngs Bay Bridge across Youngs Bay in Astoria, Oregon is a cantilever bridge made up of two 75-foot leaves with a total span of 1,766 feet.

Sustainable goals of the bridge rehabilitation was to achieve:

  • long term protection of the bridge
  • reduced maintenance costs (maintenance presents a major cost to all DOTs)
  • zero concrete spalling and environment impact
  • improved user safety and reliablility.
